Jan Dworak, Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council, requested Prime Minister Beata Szydło to provide more detailed information regarding the surveillance of journalists over the years 2007-2015.

On the basis of Article 10 paragraph 3 of the Broadcasting Act, KRRiT Chairman Jan Dworak called on Telewizja Polska to cease its violation of Article 21 paragraph 2 subparagraphs 2 and 3 of the Act through its creation and distribution of broadcasts inconsistent with the requirement to provide reliable information on a vast diversity of events and processes and to encourage the unconstrained development of citizens’ views and formation of public opinion.

The Act of June 22 2016 on the National Media Council was published in the Journal of Laws on 29 June 2016. The Act enters into force on 7 July 2016.

Eight of the largest television broadcasters have made an agreement on the loudness level of broadcasts and television programmes. The agreement represents another act of self-regulation supported by the National Broadcasting Council.

At the beginning of June, Chairman of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine (NRTRU) Jurii Artemenko once again addressed broadcasters of Polish television programmes via the National Broadcasting Council with a proposal to enter them onto the list of channels available in Ukraine. The NRTRU Chairman had also made such a proposal in February of this year.
