The Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has overturned the decision concerning the fine imposed on the TVN SA and has announced the establishment of Media Round Table

After getting acquainted with the positions of the Civil Society and additional analyzes and arguments presented by the interested party, the Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council decided to repeal the Decision of December 11, 2017 concerning the fine imposed on TVN SA.
At the same time, noting the utmost importance of the problem of public life brutalization, growing aggression against journalists, propagation of hate speech and disinformation through the so-called fake news, Witold Kołodziejski has announced the establishment of the Round Table at the National Broadcasting Council with the participation of journalists and Academia, and above all, with the active participation of broadcasters. The Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council stressed that freedom of speech means responsibility for the speech and that is why the need for jointly developed self-regulation in the media becomes so urgent.
