KRRiT cooperation with the Centre for Antitrust and Regulatory Studies

21.04.2015
On 21 April 2015 the National Broadcasting Council signed a memorandum of understanding on Cooperation with the Centre for Antitrust and Regulatory Studies (CARS).
The institutions agreed to cooperate on the theoretical and practical problems of regulating the media service provider market, with particular regard to challenges presented by the establishment of a dominant position among entities, assuming control over broadcasters’ activity, as well as issues of public assistance.

The Centre for Antitrust and Regulatory Studies was created in 2007 as a research group and is an independent organizational unit directly subordinate to the Dean of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw. CARS concentrates on the issues of competition and consumer protection, broadly understood, as well as pro-competitive and pro-consumer sector-specific regulations in the market economy.

As part of the agreement, KRRiT and CARS will enhance and promote academic achievements and practical knowledge in the area of competition protection and sector specific regulations, including co-organizing conferences and meetings of representatives from the academic community, public authorities, and organizations belonging to the audiovisual services and telecommunications market.  The institutions will also support the release of books and other publications in this field.
